Makin Bacon with my Bacon Press

I have always been jealous when I see people with flat bacon and wondered why mine always curled up when  I made it.  Now I know the secret, thanks to Goodcook.

I was recently sent the bacon press to review and I love it!  It is so simple to use and made perfect bacon for my family!  It felt very comfortable in my hand and wasn't too heavy to hold. I simply laid my bacon on my heated Goodcook Cast Iron Grill pan, and set the bacon press on top. I turned my bacon once to cook both sides.   The result was perfect bacon!

Here is my very favorite bacon recipe that I created and use every holiday:

Bacon Covered Turkey

Preheat oven at 350 degrees

Rub 1 stick of softened butter all over your turkey being sure to get the legs and breast well.
Use 1 lb of bacon and lay strips across the entire breast, all the way down to the legs.  Add a few slices inside the turkey as well (if you don't stuff yours).  (I make my stuffing separately)

You will need 1 Turkey size cooking bag.  Be sure to shake 1 tbsp of flour in the bag before using it.  (This helps prevent sticking).

Line the bottom of the bag with carrots and celery (alternate them)

Place the turkey on top of the carrots and celery.

Seal the turkey bag and poke a few holes in the top of the bag to allow steam to escape.

Bake at 350 degrees   (Times will vary according to the size of your turkey)

Always let your turkey sit for a while before carving it so that the juices don't escape.

The result is a perfectly cooked turkey that is juicy, tender and flavorful!
