Slow and Steady- Week 19 My #Weight Watchers Journey

Hello again!  I hope you are having a great week so far.  If you haven't visited my blog lately, there are a few giveaways going on that you may be interested in.  Please stop by and check them out!

This was a small weight loss week, but I can't complain.  It is still a loss.  I lost 1/2 lb this week.  This brings my total weight loss up to 28 lbs so far.  I was expecting a bit more this week, but I am sure it will all catch up in the next couple of weeks. That is how the journey seems to go, not only for me but for pretty much anyone who is on it.  Some weeks you're down a lot, some weeks a little and some none at all.  The body is an amazing machine that does wondrous things.  We have to take care of it like a car.  What we put into it is what we will get out of it.

This week I wanted to talk to you about unconcious eating. You know when you're sitting on the couch and have a bag of chips or cookies sitting next to you while you surf the internet, and you reach in and suddenly realize they're all gone? Yes, that unconcious eating.  I've done it on many occasions in the past, one too many times in reality.  I wanted to tell you what I do to prevent me from being an unconcious eater.  I portion out my snacks.  Weight Watchers has a lot of preportioned snacks that I pick up at my meetings, but if I buy snacks in the store, I will look at the serving size on the package and portion out servings in individual bags or I will take 1 serving in a small bowl or cup.  This keeps me from over indulging.

Do you ever find yourself wanting a snack but not sure what to have?  Here are some of the things that I have when I want to snack:

3 cups of Jolly Time Healthy Pop popcorn

3 pizzelle cookies

(you can also use these to make ice cream sandwiches,  Just take 2 pizzelle cookies and in between add some fat free cool whip and sliced strawberries)  or you can blend a frozen banana and add it in the middle instead.  The possibilities are endless.

Freeze for an hour then enjoy.  I sometimes make a bunch and freeze them individually in baggies.  Then when I want a frozen treat, I grab one.

Unsweetened Almond Milk

1 cup is only 40 calories and it is packed with flavor.  You can add your own sweetener if you want, but it is good on its own.  This helps to curb hunger and gives me that chocolate fix I want.  There is also an unsweetened vanilla variety as well.

Of course fruit and veggies are always our best choice and should be eaten on a regular basis.  However, if you want to indulge once in a while, go ahead!  Don't deprive yourself.  Just remember, you are in control of yourself.

What kind of snacks do you enjoy?  Feel free to leave some ideas below or on my Facebook page.  I would love to hear your snack choices.

Have a great week!  I will.
