October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month #cancersucks

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Three years ago, I lost one of the most influential people in my life, my mother in law.  She was such a beautiful woman inside and out.  Her presence always made everyone around her smile.  She was kind, gentle, caring and loving.   She never had a bad thing to say about anyone.   She always use to tell me to leave things in God's hands and to pray everyday for those who are less fortunate.  My mother in law fought a 7 year battle with breast cancer and was a strong fighter.

Did you know that 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime?

The National Breast Cancer Organization provides a free guide on their website about breast cancer, as well as other useful information about early detection, mammograms and support.  They also teach you about ways you can help others by donating mammograms, starting fundraisers, and becoming Corporate partners.

Where there is help, there is hope.

  3. Yes, I know all this cuz my mom had Cancer too back in 1961. They took her breast & a muscle under her left arm. It left her a super hypochondriac, but praise the Lord it saved her many times. Mom lived to 84 & her & my BFF my MIL died the same year 2006. My Mom died in April, my step-dad died in May from stomach cancer & none of us knew. He told no one & my MIL passed in September that same year 2006. ~sigh~ My daughters & I get our breasts checked every year! Your mom has a beautiful happy glow on her face! She was lovely!
