Let Frontier Tree & Turf Help You With Your New Jersey Property Landscape Maintenance

Thank goodness spring is here! I am so happy that the sun is out, the bird are chirping, and grass is growing. This winter really was a brutal one and it led to a lot of yard and home damage in the New Jersey area and all around us. Because there was so much damage, everyone is now out in their yard trying to figure out what steps they need to take in order to revamp their homes. A lot of people do not know where to start, so that is where I come in! Today, I want to chat with you all about how you can figure out what you need to do, in order to get your home and yard back in shape.

Make a list
Unfortunately, everyone has different damages from the winter storm and everyone has a different to do list for normal spring tasks, so I cannot tell you exactly what to do, but I can tell you how to figure out what you need to do! Go around your home and your yard and make a big list of what is damaged, what your normal tasks are, and what you are not sure about. This could look something like this:

  • Spring cleaning: Wash all curtains, flip bed mattresses, clean out cabinets and organize, etc.
  • House fixes: Tighten door knobs, replace torn screens on the windows, fix damaged siding.
  • Normal spring yard tasks: Spray for weeds, plant our garden, plant seasonal flowers, fertilize grass, and pull any remaining weeds.
  • Yard fixes: Have trees inspected, remove damaged trees, if needed. Clear all remaining limbs and other debris from the storm, etc.

Once you have your personalized list together, you can move on to the next step!

Prioritize
The next step is to prioritize. Prioritizing is huge because unfortunately, you cannot do every single thing at one time. On your list, circle what you can do yourself and highlight what you will need to hire someone for. For example, if you do not have much experience with fixing damaged siding, you should probably hire someone. If you already have a home repair man, I would call to see if he/she could help you out. Since you have more on your list compared to normal years, you will probably need some help, and that is okay.

Do what you can
Although you will probably need help, do what you can, in order to save money. Everyone in the area is going through the same thing, so maybe you could even form a group together to do a neighborhood clean up. This will help you remove debris, but it will save you a lot of time in the end, while saving money at the same time.

Hire an expert
Please do not try to remove a tree yourself, or fix damaged siding if you do not know what you are doing - you could just make it a lot worse, or hurt yourself in the process. There are people out there that can help! Frontier Tree & Turf is a family owned and operated tree, shrub, and lawn care service. “Frontier Tree Company was founded in 1985 by certified New Jersey Tree Expert Kevin V. Slavin, who has had a passion for tree care since he was a child.” In 2014, Slavin decided that it was time to expand the business, so he teamed up with his son, Kevin R. Slavin to add reliable lawn maintenance and plant health care provider services. Now, Kevin R. manages all lawn care and plant care services. This is why the name is now Frontier Tree & Turf, instead of Frontier Tree Company. Located out of Monmouth County, NJ, Frontier Tree & Turf can provide services such as tree pruning, tree removal, tree insect & disease control, lawn fertilization, and more.
