A website and social media pages are essential for successful businesses right now. Instagram and influencer marketing is through the roof right now and if you have a business that does not have an online presence, you are getting behind and your business is probably suffering (or at least could do better). If you do not have a website yet, I highly recommend starting one. To get started, you need a platform and there are many to choose from. Wix, Blogger, and Wordpress are just a few of the options out there. While Blogger is fine, I highly recommend the paid version of Wordpress. This will rank highest for search engine optimization, you have more control on how you customize your website, and you also own all of your content. Since you do not pay for hosting with blogger, they have all of the control when it comes to your website. If they want to take it down, they can. So, my recommendation is to get the paid Wordpress website option.
If you decided on a paid Wordpress platform for your website, you will need hosting and a paid domain name. Siteground is one of the most inexpensive and best options out there. Of course, there are other websites that you can use, but Siteground is one of those companies that a lot of people use and most have great experiences with them. Another great one that I’ve heard about is BlueHost. If you decided to go with Blogger or a similar platform, you will not need hosting, but you will need a paid domain name. This will basically take your URL from _____.blogspot.com to _____.com, which is definitely necessary with a business website.
Now that you have your website up and running, you need to find a layout that works for you. Thankfully, Etsy is fantastic for that. Do a quick search for “Custom Wordpress Themes” and you will find quite a few options. You can also find other great marketing tools such as Instagram story highlight icons, custom logos, and more.
Fast Company says, “Last year mobile media consumption surpassed online for the first time with more than 100 million daily active users, 1.6 billion daily likes, and 20 billion shared photos. And if you’re looking to target millennials, the numbers are even better: With 42% penetration of millennial smartphone users, they spend more than an astounding 439 minutes per month on the platform, according to comScore Mobile Trends 2014.So how does Instagram stack up against other social platforms, especially those that have been around longer? A recent study by Forrester Research found that Instagram users were 58 times more likely to like, comment, or share a brand’s post than Facebook users and 120 times more likely than Twitter users. All data indicates that users are moving away from Twitter and Facebook and shifting their time to Instagram. This absolutely proves that Instagram is the best social and mobile platform for brands to reach audiences that are willing to engage. If you’re not marketing on Instagram, you’re missing out.” With all of that information, I would definitely say that Instagram marketing is essential for your company.
