Five Ways to Help Increase Blog Traffic

Are you looking for ways to increase blog traffic? Here are a five ways to help!

Use Catchy Titles

The title of your post is what is going to drive traffic to your site.  If you use a title that is interesting and thought provoking, it will increase the amount of people who visit your post.  As an example would you rather read: Homemade Chicken Soup or The Best Homemade Chicken Soup ?  There are actually websites that can help you get the best title for your post.  There is more to a title than you think.  The length, keywords and impact really do make a difference.  You can write better headlines with help from Co Schedule. It is a free site.

Get an Eye Catching Logo

Your logo is the first thing people see when they visit or search for your site.  Having a great, eye catching logo can really make an impact on your site.  Companies like Logo Genie can help you design the perfect logo for your site.  They have over 1000 premium logo templates to make it easy for you to design your logo.  Their prices are great too!

Share Your Posts on Social Media

If you are active on your blog, that is great.  Keeping your audience engaged is important.  Be sure to create social media accounts where you can share your posts as well.  You should also get an RSS Feed or join a platform like Bloglovin who will send your blog posts out to your subscribers as you post them! You can find my blog there.

Take Great Photos

They say a picture is worth a thousand words and this is true, especially in blogging.  Great photos with natural light are always ideal for posts.  Try not to make your photos too crowded and use simple backgrounds if you are taking product photos for reviews.  Shutterfly has a great guide to taking the perfect photo which includes tips for smart phone photos too!

Work With Other Bloggers

If you want to get exposure to your blog, working with other bloggers is a great way to do that.  If you have similar blog posts, you can share links on each other's blog which will drive traffic to your site.  I have a few close blogger friends who I love to collaborate with.

I hope these tips can help increase your blog traffic. Remember everything is trial and error and what works for one person may not work for you and that is fine.  Do what you feel comfortable doing and be sure to check your Google Analytics to learn about your audience and which of your posts are driving the most traffic to your site.  This can help you increase traffic as well.  Good Luck and Happy Writing!
