5 Winter Drinks to Keep You Nice and Warm

Baby it's cold outside and this time of year I am always looking for a nice winter drink to keep me nice and warm inside.  Luckily there are many to choose from, but I am going to share some of my favorites.

1. Hot Toddy

Ahh, the hot toddy.  This drink has been around since it was first invented in Scotland in the 1700s.  It is typically made with whiskey, water, sugar and spices.  However, Aunt Lucy's has a Hot Toddy Mix that you simply can pour into a glass, add hot water and optional spirits and enjoy.  I like to add a cinnamon stick and slice of lemon.  These are perfect when you feel a cold coming on and for soothing a sore throat.

2. Warm Egg Nog

Egg Nog is delicious in it's own right.  But a warm egg nog with bourbon is a nice twist on the ordinary.

3. Boozy Buttermint White Hot Cocoa

This warm winter recipe includes buttermints, milk, Bailey's Irish Creme and white chocolate.  It is creamy, delicious and makes a great accompaniment to those holiday cookies.  You can get the full recipe at Southern Living.

4. Warm Spiced Sangria

This delicious warm Sangria drink is an infusion of peppercorns, clove, apple cider, wine, brandy and other ingredients.

5. Smuggler's Coffee

Gold and Dark rum, orange zest and cinnamon are among the flavors of this unique coffee drink.

You can try changing up the flavor of these drinks by adding some unique coffee syrups to kick it up a notch.
