Forward Thinking is Key in Building Public Relations

When I imagine ways to try to build brands in blogging, I always think of forward thinking companies, like Behrman Communications.  I have read about Nancy in the past and love the story of how she developed her women owned company into one of the top brand building companies. Her drive reminds me a lot of myself and how I am always thinking ahead of what to do next or how I can be different from other influencers.

Influencing is an important role, and it should be taken seriously.  The things that influencers convey about brands, and the way they are presented are key to brand’s success. There are several important things I have learned by paying attention to successful PR Professionals, like Nancy Behrman.

Know the Trends
Smart PR Professionals are familiar with the trends in the market and pay close attention to their client's needs.  For example, Nancy has successfully helped companies such as Kiehls and Burt's Bees blossom and thrive and turned both into multi-million dollar companies.  For over three decades, her clients have included companies such as Philosophy, Tweezerman, L'Oreal Paris and many other prestigious brands on the market.  She currently works with many top beauty brands on the market, as well.

Having the ability to build relationships with brands like that is hard work and takes a lot of forward thinking and a good team of people.  Often when I work on posts, I collaborate with other influencers. We always are always brainstorming and trying to come up with ideas and angles that are unique, catchy, or attention grabbing.

Communication
Creating successful partnerships with clients helps to earn the trust and respect of top influencers in the business.  It is important to get to know who you are working for, and what they are expecting from you. Communication is key here.  Having a hands-on approach makes all of the difference. This also helps you to make a better impact.

As a blogger and mom, I believe that it is important to have a hands on approach with my clients and understand the needs that they have, just as I do with my own family.  By listening to the clients that I work with, I build relationships and gain their trust. It is important to take the time to learn about your clients' needs and build that relationship in order to help them grow.

Build Relationships
I like to push myself to work harder and I listen to successful people, like Nancy, because they have walked in my shoes before.  I sometimes can sell myself short by doing blog jobs that are gratuit. But, I feel that by building that beginning relationship and proving myself to the clients, I open up the door for future relationships and paid jobs.  I know a lot of other bloggers probably look at this and are thinking that I am crazy, but I am comfortable with my decision and this has worked for me. If it isn't broke, don't fix it, just make it better.

Know Your Self Worth
I know my self worth and have learned to grow as a blogger through trial and error.  I find that when I began to work with PR firms, I continue to learn how to grow and prosper as a blogger. I have been given many wonderful opportunities over the years through PR firms and enjoy the structure and guidance that I receive from them.

As for the market,  I personally have seen the trends and changes in the social media market over the past 10 years and know what my personal outreach of followers respond to.  This has helped me to be a better blogger and has given me the confidence to take chances. However, I personally prefer to work with PR Professionals who are experienced and know the market because they make my job easier.  They also teach me a lot by their practices.
