De Rica Premium Tomato Products Coming to U.S. Stores this Year

Recently, I received samples of delicious tomato products from De Rica to celebrate their launch in U.S. Stores this year.  Their products are made using premium ingredients and the flavor and aroma remind me of sauces my grandmother use to make, when I was a little girl.

Check out their delicious meatballs with tomato sauce recipe below.

De Rica premium Italian tomato products, celebrated by chefs and food lovers throughout Europe for their authentic Italian flavor, color and aroma, are coming to grocery shelves throughout the United States this year.

Monini North America Inc., the exclusive importer, will offer 10 DeRica products in organic and traditional formats: double concentrated tomato paste; strained, diced, finely chopped and peeled tomatoes; and pizza sauce with spices. The strained tomatoes already have begun to appear in selected Foodtown, Garden of Eden, Morton Williams, Key Food and Fairway stores.
De Rica has been making tomato products for nearly 50 years from just-picked Italian tomatoes sourced exclusively from Consorzio Casalasco del Pomodoro, a cooperative of 370 farms that is the largest tomato processing group in Italy and third largest in Europe.

De Rica selects only the finest tomatoes – the top 1% of the cooperative’s total output – based on flavor, color and aroma. The tomatoes are harvested at their peak goodness within 30 miles of the De Rica plant, where they are immediately processed using an all-natural, environmentally friendly, steam-peeling process that has been used in Italy for centuries.

De Rica offers several favorite recipes on its website that showcase its products, including pasta e fagioli soup, which incorporates De Rica strained organic tomatoes; goulash with tomato sauce, with finely chopped organic tomatoes; and rice timballo with tomato, with De Rica finely chopped tomatoes.

De Rica tomato products have occupied a cherished place in Italy’s kitchens since 1963,” said Marco Petrini, Monini North America Inc. president. “Now America’s cooks can experience the difference De Rica tomato products make in their favorite recipes. De Rica has no equal for quality and wholesomeness.”

Monini North America Inc., based in Shelton, Connecticut, is the exclusive importer and distributor of Monini Olive Oil, La Molisana Pasta and Pellini Espresso Coffee, all leading
Italian specialty brands.
