One Sweet Giveaway - Win a Domino Golden Sugar Prize Pack (Ends 12.3.19)

My Secret Ingredient in my Holiday Cooking is Domino Sugars.

Being the daughter of a baker, my dad always use to teach me about the quality of the ingredients used in the foods he baked.  As a grown woman, my mother in law always taught me not to skimp on ingredients, especially when it is going to be served to family and friends.  She always preached to use the best ingredients for the best outcome.  I couldn't agree more.

I have a lot of tried and true recipes that I use for the holidays every year because my family always asks for them.  When I give out my recipes, I always specify the brands that I use, because if the person makes my recipe using a different brand, they are not going to get the same result.

One brand that I never stray from is Domino sugars.  I only use their white, and brown sugars in my recipes, including my ham, sweet potato casserole and my cookie and pie recipes.  I get a lot of compliments on my holiday food and they are the number one reason for those compliments.

This year, Domino has a brand new addition to their sugar family... Golden sugar.  I want to teach you a bit about it.

What is the difference between Domino Golden, White and Brown Sugars?

Golden Sugar
Introducing new Domino Golden Sugar, the less-processed sugar you can use more freely in all your favorite foods. Made from pure cane sugar, it works cup-for-cup just like white sugar, but has a beautiful golden color and a distinct hint of molasses flavor you’re sure to love. Domino golden Sugar provides a less processed way to sweeten as every crystal retains more of the color and goodness from the sugarcane grown in the field. Shoppers can count on it to perform in baking, cup-for-cup, and to dissolve in beverages, just like white sugar.

Light Brown Sugar
Domino Light Brown Sugar has a nutty, caramel flavor, moistness and a subtle molasses flavor. It’s ideal for cookies, shortbread, spiced cakes, brownies and crumble toppings. Generally, if a recipe doesn’t specify Dark or Light Brown, it is intended that Light Brown be used.

Dark Brown Sugar

To create flavor that’s deep, rich and real, use only Domino Dark Brown Sugar. Its moistness and deep, rich molasses flavor make it ideal for full-flavored or savory recipes. Use it in brownies, gingerbread, coffee or chocolate cakes, fudge, BBQ sauce, marinated, sweet and sour sauce, and pancake syrups.

Want to be the star of your thanksgiving get together?  Make my Holiday Ham recipe. It was passed down from my Father in law and we have been making it for over 25 years.

  16. I use to own my own business, Karen's Cakes and Candies. I made all kinds of cakes and learned from my Mother. My favorite is Coconut cake, I would make that for sure. At Thanksgiving I make several types of cakes to freeze for Christmas and throughout the year. German Chocolate, Red Velvet, and more. I have always used Domino sugar, I have never had any problem when baking with it. The best is the best and there is no way to deny it. We use Domino sugar for any thing that calls for sugar.
