We Carry Kevan by Kevan Chandler is Such an Inspiring Read

A month or so ago, I saw a video online, about a man named Kevan Chandler, born with spinal muscular atrophy, whose six friends carried him, backpack style, across Europe.  When I saw this video, I remember thinking to myself, "Wow, those must be some wonderful friends, to do that." It was truly inspiring to watch it.

Check out the video that inspired me:

This book, written by Kevan Chandler is such an uplifting and inspring book.  It tells the detailed story of the adventures that Kevan and his friends encountered during their trip through England, Ireland, France and Wales.

In his book, Kevan speaks of how he experienced everything, just as his friends did, and that nothing was out of reach or off limits. No mountain was too high for him to climb.

It was nice to read the stories of the other friends who carried Kevan through Europe.  Each had their own story and experience to tell.  Most of them found a new appreciation for things that we take for granted every day, like walking in the woods.

Kevan continues to inspire others as he moves forward on his journey to make the world more accessible for everyone.  You can visit his website at http://wecarrykevan.com/ to learn how you can donate or to purchase a WCK pack, which is a carrier for persons with disabilities to go where wheelchairs can not go.

About We Carry Kevin

Kevan grew up, he says, at "belt-buckle level" and stayed there until his beloved group of friends decided to leave his wheelchair at the Atlanta airport, board a plane for France, and carry him around Europe on their backs to accomplish their dream of seeing the world together! The inseparable group traveled to Paris, England, and Ireland where, in the climax of their adventure, they scale 600 feet up to the 1,400-year-old monastic fortress of Skellig Michael. In WE CARRY KEVAN the reader sits with Kevan, one head-level above everyone else for the first time in his life and enjoys camaraderie unlike anything most people ever experience. Along the way they encounter the curiosity and beauty of strangers, the human family disarmed by grace, and the profound power of friendship and self-sacrifice.

I highly recommend this inspiring book.
