Book Review My Mom Has Two Jobs

My Mom Has Two Jobs is a children;s picture book that pays homage to working moms everywhere.

In this book, each page shows an illustration by a child who's mother has a career.  The children explain how their mother cares for them while also working in their profession.  Many different occupations are highlighted in the book.  The book is simply written and easy to read. It also features positive role models for children to look up to.


This book is a wonderful way to introduce your child to different types of occupations that they can one day aspire to become including, fire fighter, police officer, doctor, secretary, nurse, lawyer, waitress and more.

About the book:

My Mom Has Two Jobs gives parents a platform to talk to their kids about their work, and to help kids see how parents bring the same love, passion and dedication to both their parenting jobs and their professional jobs.  It is beautifully illustrated to embrace diverse moms and kids of different races and ethnicity, and show the important roles that women play in society. 
About the author
Michelle Travis is a law professor at the University of San Francisco School of Law, where she is the Co-Director of USF's Labor and Employment Law Program. She writes about sex discrimination, gender stereotypes, and work/family conflicts, and she is excited to share her debut children's picture book celebrating working moms. She lives in the Bay Area with her husband and two daughters.
