This 11 Year Old Specialty Baker is a Rising Star

 

Makai is an eleven-year-old girl boss and the owner/operator of Kai's Baking Studio, a specialty bakery that is focused on keto/low carb, gluten-free and vegan baked treats. Our bakery provides a healthier way of snacking for people with certain allergies and medical conditions such as obesity, celiac disease , diabetes, and epilepsy to name a few. With the help of her family, Makai has owned her business for over 4 years now and has gone from doing only Farmers Markets to owning her own flagship location in Houston,TX. Makai loves speaking to other kids her age about entrepreneurship. She is a true rising star and someone to look out for.

I was so impressed with Makai that I had to interview her. Here is my interview:

How old were you when you baked for the first time?

5 years old

What made you want to become a baker?

I really like to bake with my dad making cookies and I enjoy the time we spend together. I like the science of it you have to be exact and follow a recipe.

What would you say to other kids who want to start their own business?


I would say focus and be dedicated to what you do. It won't be easy and it won't always work as you want, but if you work hard you can accomplish it. Don't give up and be nice to the people that help you.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I like to chill out and watch TV, YoutTube, TikTok, and playing volleyball are things that I like to do.


It sounds like Makai is a very mature little girl who has a well balanced life! I can’t wait to see what the future holds for her! Maybe we will see her on Food Network some day!
