Fall Activities: Fun Outdoor Activities to Do This Fall

Want to find great fun fall activities this season? Autumn is already here, but it can be hard to figure out exactly what to do to celebrate the season.

But, there are so many options available to you as the seasons change. Read on for the top fall activities that your whole crew will love.

Fun Fall Activities for Solo Artists

Just because you're alone, doesn't mean you can't enjoy the fall season. You can take a road trip on your own, to see the sights and sounds of fall in your region.

Hiking is a wonderful way to spend weekends in the fall, either on your own or in a group. You can look into different hiking trails in your area, so you'll have something to do throughout the fall season. Just make sure you prepare properly to go hiking. Wear the right shoes, and bring plenty of water when you go hiking.

If you want to get a group of friends together, you can go apple picking at an orchard near you. That way, you'll have more activities to do with your apples afterward. You can bake an apple pie or apple crumble.

Caramel apples may be sweet, but they're a delicious treat to snack on (in moderation, at least!). You can even start making your own homemade apple cider!

And, once you have all these great apple treats, you'll want to consider throwing a potluck dinner for all your friends so that you can all sample each other's adventures with apple-themed cooking.

Those who have their own backyard may want to set up their backyard for fall. Plant bulbs that can survive the winter in your garden. Or, if you want to stay inside, why not take up a hobby that will be useful as the weather gets colder. Take up knitting, for example, so you can make sweaters and blankets to keep you nice and warm before winter hits.

Fall Activities for Couples

Of course, there are tons of wonderful fall activities for couples you'll want to try out when you're happy in a relationship. Strolling through a fall festival in your area is a romantic way to spend an afternoon or an evening. Many of these festivals will also offer a hayride, so you can relax and take in the sights and sounds of the festival.

But, this isn't the only great fall activity you can do together. Horseback riding is a great choice if you want something a little more athletic to try out this fall. Or, for an activity that's a little more low-key, try going birdwatching so you can stroll around outdoor spaces on your own time.  You can even stroll around the farmer's market and purchase fall fruits and vegetables you can take home and cook together.

If you want to do something spooky and scary, do some research into ghost and cemetery tours in your area. This is the perfect way to get into the spirit of Halloween as the spooky season begins.

And, Halloween isn't the only fall holiday you can celebrate. If you love beer, why not look for an Oktoberfest event in your area? You can head to a local brewery, or create your own Oktoberfest event at home with a selection of your favorite beers. You can even start planning a Thanksgiving event for once it gets later in the autumn season!

Those who want to plan a romantic evening have tons of options during the fall season. When the weather is clear, get out a big blanket, pack a picnic, and go stargazing in a local park. For something earlier in the day, do your research and look for the best places to check out the sunset in your area.

Fun Fall Activities For Your Family

If you have kids running about, you'll definitely want to consider your options when it comes to fall activities for families. Haunted houses are one great option if your children love the spooky, scary holiday of Halloween.

If you're looking for something more creative side of things, you can practice making jack o'lanterns as a family. Or, if the weather's nice enough, you can create a big outdoor fort in your backyard that your kids will be able to play in for the rest of the season. Try making different fall crafts, like pinecone bird feeders. For something even more useful, you can work together to create your children's Halloween costumes. This can also help you save some extra money!

Those who are looking for indoor fun fall activities also have a lot of great options. Check out some of the great family-friendly fall movies that your kids will love. Some of the top fall movies for families include:

• The Goonies
• It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
• Hocus Pocus
• Coco
• E.T., The Extraterrestrial
• Matilda
• Little Women
• Legally Blonde

Or, throw a fall party for some of the neighborhood kids. You can have a general fall theme, or a more specific one (like Halloween). Set up an apple bobbing station, or crafts even the smallest kids can do. Just make sure you have plenty of different snacks on hand for when your guests get a little bit peckish.
