Since Valentine's Day typically means lots of candy and chocolates, this craft is the perfect sweet (and healthy) way for your kids to show their friends a little love this Valentine’s Day!
Wonderful Halos Mandarin Craft | Valentine Critters
Created by Jodi Levine
I’ve done a few changes to the original design, which I’ve adjusted in the directions and video.
All of the parts of these Halos Valentine critters are made out of heart shapes in different sizes!
Supplies
• Halos mandarins
• Colored, white, and black heavy paper or cardstock
• Scissors
• Hole punch
• Glue stick
• Black marker
• Scissors
• Adhesive dots (optional)
Instructions
1. Cut out a large heart with ear shapes for each face, about 5 to 6” across. (See video)
a. Tip: To cut symmetrical hearts, you can fold the paper in half and cut half a heart along the fold.
2. Make eyes using marker and a nose by using a wonderful halo and gluing a nose shape as shown in video.
a. Tip: You can trace a dime to get a perfect circle!
3. You can use the hole punch to punch a small hole in the top of your Halos Valentine critter, so it can be hung up once the halo has been eaten. Children can draw a little snout or glue on their little nose they made, and add a mouth.
