Never Cry Over Anything That Can't Cry Over You- A Message of Hope #charity #hope #love #hurricane

Never cry over anything that can't cry over you.  I have heard that expression my entire life.  My mother often said it to us as a reminder that family is the most important thing we have.  I have said this phrase to my son on many occasions, and I hope one day he says it to his children.

Never cry over anything that can't cry over you.  With all of the devastation and loss over the past few months from the hurricanes that have been happening, those words have never been so true.   I pray everyday for the people who have lost so much and are suffering.  I am praying that they find solace in the fact that they have each other.  Material things can be replaced.   I remember when Super storm Sandy and Hurricane Irene hit my area a few years ago.  We were without power, gas and other amenities.  The storm damage was bad in some areas from the floods and winds, but nothing like what I am seeing in the past few weeks in Texas and Florida and the islands.  My heart goes out to those people.

Never cry over anything that can't cry over you.   Simple words, yet so complex.    How can they not cry?  Their entire worlds have been turned upside down.  Yet we know in our hearts that there are good people in this world that will reach out and help build the world around them up again.  Still, now, they need us, they need each other, they need family and anyone who is there to help them.  They need comfort.  They need to know that everything will be okay.  Maybe not today or tomorrow, but it will be okay.

I heard many of the interviews on television of people who lost everything in the storms and the one thing I heard almost every one of them say is, "Things can be replaced.  The important thing is that we are all okay, that our families are okay."

When we look at life in perspective we realize that things are just that, things.  Things come and go.  Things get replaced.  Things get misplaced, mishandled and often tossed after time.  Things get lost or taken away.

Family is forever.  Family sticks together through thick and thin.  They rely on one another when things get rough and they love one another above all other things. Family loves each other unconditionally.

Let's be a family to those in need. Let's let them know that we are here for them.

Here is a website with a list of charities that are accepting donations to those in need.
