Made-in-America City Bonfires celebrates with a Camping Adventure Giveaway

In 1927, Loretta Scott Crew shared her recipe for “some mores” in the publication Tramping and Trailing with the Girl Scouts and an iconic American treat was born.

Since then, hundreds of millions of s’mores have been shared, making it an all-American summer staple. Hershey Chocolate reports that their chocolate is used in more than 750 million s’mores a year, but gourmet options are growing in popularity with luxury chocolates, fruits, and various crackers.

The story behind City Bonfires resonates with so many Americans. Neighbors Chris McCasland and Michael Opalski were sitting around a campfire in August 2020 after losing their jobs during Covid. They looked at the bonfire and had an ‘Ah Hah’ moment – how could they shrink the firepit to something anyone could use anytime, making it easy to enjoy a s’more no matter where you were.

They jumped in and created launched in August of 2020. Since then, they’ve sold hundreds of thousands of City Bonfires and s’mores kits, and have hired colleagues who also lost their jobs during the pandemic too.
