In this irresistible spin on a timeless holiday tale, debut author Heather Pierczynski and artist Skylar Hogan’s reveal why only a mouse is singled out within The Night Before Christmas. A perfect stocking stuffer and cozy read by the fireplace to induce plenty of giggles and laughter.

‘Twas the night before Christmas,

when all through the house,

not a creature was stirring, not even a—

MOUSE!

He had never heard of a mouse not stirring.

It was the most glorious night of the year!

So he stirred. Squeaked! Eeked!

Football season is here, and with that comes lots of game-watching - and snacks!

I received an awesome book by best-selling cookbook author, food blogger, and party host extraordinaire Tim Mulligan. In it are great ideas for quick and easy ways to throw a perfect football-watching party, from recipes, decor tips, and more.

A Perfect 10 PARTYEDITION: Full Menus and Activities to Make Hosting Parties a Breeze, highlights how to prepare and throw the perfect party, from holiday dinners to your favorite game day snacks and more. He has got you covered with recipes, decor ideas and even fun party games to play to ensure your party is remembered for years to come. No more boring chips and salsa: 5 simple tips to elevate your party food from good to GREAT.

What is a quick snack you can whip together for unexpected guests, for a football viewing day? In my new cookbook, A Perfect 10 Party Edition, I provide a bunch of ideas for quick and easy appetizers to throw together for a party. With friends dropping by to view a football game, it's all about fun finger foods - think dips, nachos, small handhelds. I like to lean into nachos - and a quick and unique version is my Loco Moco Nachos, inspired by Hawaiian Loco Moco brunch dishes. Cook up some teriyaki meat - mix ground beef with a few tablespoons of bottled teriyaki sauce, and a large pinch of salt and pepper, then set aside. I like to make some white jasmine rice, cooked in coconut milk with lime juice and cilantro added. Scatter your tortilla chips (or if you don't have any, fry up some flour tortillas in coconut oil and make your own!) on a baking sheet, then sprinkle the rice over the top, covered by the beef. Sprinkle grated cheese (I like to use provolone) over the top, and bake for about 20 minutes at 400 degrees. If you have time and the ingredients, a little Hawaiian themed slaw over the top will really pull it all together. It's a unique and tasty, and easy, alternative to traditional old nachos.

For game day cocktails, I like to serve amped up beer cocktails - or make a pitcher of my Mulligan Micheladas! In a pitcher, combine 4 12 ounce bottles of lager, a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, 8 teaspoons of hot sauce, and a large pinch of salt. Mix well, and serve with glasses that have been dipped in lime juice and then a rim of Tajin chili salt. Fun.
