Vancouver, BC, March 27, 2024 - Wind Sun Sky Entertainment (WSS), pioneer in multi-platform entertainment, has partnered with Knowledge Network’s Knowledge Kids, a leading Canadian pubcaster, to expand the reach of FUTURE CHICKEN, a climate justice initiative for kids (6-10).

FUTURE CHICKEN is a groundbreaking universe for children that aims to counter climate “doomism” by offering a variety of entertaining and educational experiences. The initiative launched in late 2023 in multiple formats including; 150+ ecotainment shorts,  a mixed media comedy series, a co-listening podcast for families, two Roblox experiences and a website with educational materials to start.

“The world can be a scary place when it comes to climate change, especially for kids. FUTURE CHICKEN was created to help them feel ‘planet positive’,” said Catherine Winder, CEO of WSS. “Through comedy forward, fun stories Future Chicken is designed to activate kids to have agency and hope when it comes to the future of our planet. This partnership with Knowledge Network will allow us to reach even more kids and families across Canada.”

“Knowledge Kids is committed to offering shows that inspire and help kids learn about the world around them through cooperation, empathy, friendship and problem-solving,” said Michele Paris, Senior Manager of Children’s Programming for  Knowledge Network. “FUTURE CHICKEN fits perfectly into our line to inspire kids, and their parents, about planet positivity and we’re excited to introduce this fun universe to our viewers.”

FUTURE CHICKEN is a world filled with funny and imaginative characters helmed by a time traveling, eco-champion chicken named  Potato, also known as “Future Chicken”.  Potato  is joined by a diverse cartoon team of loveable planet protectors including Persa, an electric catfish fascinated by fascinators, Frittata, a joke-cracking egg with talking rocket pants for flight, Worm, a soil connoisseur worm and an eco-detective mushroom, Bello, with a penchant for gossip and a passion for cyclical regeneration.

On Knowledge Network, kids will get to experience this fun-loving  ensemble of  characters through The Future Chicken Today Show, a dynamic comedy series filled with music and games  featuring lively interviews with notable guests who visit the future to provide inspiring yet honest perspectives on the global environment. Also streaming  is a series of eco-tainment shorts starring Future Chicken’s planet protecting team that fuses  mixed media with edutainment, and a huge dose of hilarity. Vignettes spotlighting kids reporting on the good things happening today, called Planet Protecting with Potato, will also air.

Future Chicken  is a joint-project between Wind Sun Sky Entertainment and the  Ontario Water Centre/ClearWater Farm, and is supported by the Shaw Rocket Fund. To learn more about FUTURE CHICKEN visit the websiteYouTube Channel and Roblox.
