GYRO CITY BRINGS A NEW STANDARD OF FAST-CASUAL GREEK DINING TO NEW YORK

Quality and Health Forward Greek Fast Casual Concept to Open Saturday, January 17, with Free Gyros for the First 100 Guests

New York, New York (January 2026) - Gyro City, a new fast-casual Greek concept rooted in authenticity, quality, and hospitality, officially opens its doors on Saturday, January 17. To celebrate, the first 100 guests will receive a complimentary gyro, inviting New Yorkers to experience a fresh take on a classic that honors tradition while raising the bar on ingredients and preparation. Gyro City is located at 99 MacDougal Street in Manhattan's Greenwich Village.

Gyro City was created to fill a gap in New York's fast-casual landscape, offering Greek food made with clean ingredients, real cooking methods, and the same care found in full-service restaurants. Founded by three lifelong friends, two Greeks and one Italian, Gyro City was built on more than a love for food. After working side by side in hospitality for over a decade, the founders shared the belief that gyros deserve better and so do the people eating them. That philosophy drives every aspect of the brand, from sourcing to service.

Gyro City delivers a fast-casual experience where quality meets convenience without sacrificing authenticity. The menu features thoughtfully sourced proteins, USDA organic produce, and time-honored preparation methods, with gyros wrapped in fresh pita bread imported directly from Greece alongside a selection of key ingredients sourced from Greece to preserve the integrity of the cuisine. Standout details include fries cooked in beef tallow instead of seed-oils, seasoned and juicy meats and fresh, crisp toppings, because every detail matters. Designed as a place to gather, connect, and enjoy food that feels right, Gyro City offers Gyros, Fries, Bowls, and Treats made without compromise.

The menu will offer Greek gyro favorites, including beef and lamb gyro pitas, chicken gyro pitas, chicken and pork souvlaki pitas, beef and lamb kebab pitas, loukaniko (Greek sausage) pitas, shrimp souvlaki pitas, and vegetarian falafel pitas.

"Gyro City is about intention," said the founder, George Karavias. "We're not trying to reinvent the Gyro, we're trying to respect it. We use better ingredients, real cooking methods, and a hospitality-first mindset because that's how food should be made and shared."

The Greenwich Village opening marks Gyro City's first New York City location, with additional openings planned for Astoria and beyond. Gyro City's is located at 99 MacDougal street and will be open daily from lunch and dinner. For more information on the brand, visit gyrocitynyc.com and follow @gyrocitynyc on Instagram.
